Sitting Spots of Gravity

Sitting on a chair,
Thinking about life,
Critiquing our views,
Waiting for the right instant
To arrive,
Not much has changed
These past few moments,
Our eyes meet
In silent agreement,
Confirming this conviction.

Here we sit
Atop chairs,
Atop a porch,
Revealing the darkest secrets
Our minds come up with,
No sounds but the hum of cars
Whisking past us,
And a single voice
Reading words.

Wonderfully drifting
Through neuron sensations,
We occupy voids with
Smoke and swirls,
Adrift a boat,
Anchored on land,
Anxiety washes away
As memories return,
The good,
The bad,
The funny,
Peace is found in our souls
Just for a second,
Sitting in these chairs
The world seems alright.
